Our Bright Lights group meets on the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of the month from 6:15 - 8:15pm in the leader, Allison Whisler's home (in O'Fallon). We currently have about 50 young ladies involved with our group. Please email Allison at allisonawhisler@gmail.com for more information.
A typical meeting includes fellowship, singing, presentation of a discipleship lesson, activities & tea time to close.
Lesson topics include gaining a clear conscience, developing a disciplined walk with God, friends, contentment, accepting the way God created you, how to present the Gospel, developing a relationship with your parents & many more. The goal of the leader is to present the lesson in a clear, practical & entertaining manner that engages & challenges each of the young ladies to go home & apply something they learned at the meeting right away.
In Bright Lights we desire to provide "fun with a purpose." Every game, activity, project & craft has a point - whether it be to bless someone else, or reinforce a concept.The times of fellowship within the group are frequently mentioned as one of the girls' favorite things about Bright Lights. We desire to foster an atmosphere of "positive peer pressure" within our group to encourage girls that it's okay to go against the flow of what the world wants you to do. Many strong friendships have been formed because of the like mindedness within the group.
